Accuracy and Reliability

PROFESSIONAL  SECURITY  SCANNER
Rocket Science, That's Just Our Hobby!

The usefulness of any Security Scanner is based on how accurately and reliably vulnerabilities are detected as well as how well the scanner detects and ignores false positives. Maxpatrol was designed to be reliable, accurate and adaptable while keeping the instances of false positives low and the ability to detect vulnerabilities extremely high, even in the most complex environments and software configurations.

Unmatched Detection of Non-Standard Software configurations

Maxpatrol will detect and identify services running on any port and process potential vulnerabilities on an the identified ports. Even if, for instance a SQL Server instance is running on Port 1435, left over from an older development cycle, Maxpatrol can detect the instance, identify the service and report the vulnerabilities.

Intelligent heuristic algorithms detect as yet unpublished vulnerabilities

It is a well know fact that the “hacking community” is very well organized and information on newly found threats is well disseminated globally through news groups, lists and websites. With this realization it is imperative a security scanner has the intelligence to identify both known vulnerabilities as well as yet unknown vulnerabilities as well. Maxparols designers have undertaken the a massive effort to build in algorithms and testing methodologies that will reliably detect and report many types of vulnerabilities that are not publicly recognized or even discovered, in both commercial products and custom code.

Probability of omitting existing vulnerability is extremely low

Testing has demonstrated that the Maxpatrol methodology is superior at detecting vulnerabilities and the possibility of know vulnerabilities avoiding detection is extremely low. The Maxpatrol database is updated daily with most every vulnerability published from security awareness sites, news letters and alerts. While no scanner can detect every unknown vulnerability, by using heuristic methods, Maxpatrol does an exceptional job.
